Pastor Chris trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour in June 1981, while attending Northside Baptist Church, Adelaide; and was scripturally baptised six weeks later.

In October that same year he moved to Geelong where he met his wife Margaret, at Geelong Independent Baptist Church. They were married in December 1983. While living in Geelong, Pastor Chris started teaching Sunday school for the first time and took on the unofficial roll of youth leader. Eventually, both he and his wife moved to Werribee where they were instrumental in establishing Suburban Baptist Church.

The Lord called Pastor Chris in 1988 to study for the ministry. He decided to attend Bible College in Brisbane. He and his family became members of Great Hope Baptist Church in May 2003. Since December 2005 Pastor Chris has served alongside Pastor Ed as Associate Pastor. His wife Margaret and two of their four adult children are all serving the Lord in ministry at Great Hope Baptist Church.
